Teshuvah in Hebrew means to “turn back and it is aligned with the month of Elul. The month of Elul – is a season of turning, searching, repentance and fortune. It’s a time to make an account of the soul. The 40 days of repentance is a time to set apart and spend with God reflecting on one’s soul, sins, and forgiveness, having the ability to forgive and be forgiven. Rosh Hashana is the Jewish New Year (Head of the Year). It is the first of the High Holy days or Yamim Noraim ("Days of Awe"); Rosh Hashanah is celebrated ten days before Yom Kippur and is observed on the first two days of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. It is described in the Torah as יום תרועה (Yom Teru'ah, a day of sounding [the Shofar]). The sounding of the Shofar is a proclamation to remind Israel of the promise of the coming King, Yeshua.
