Homeless of New Orleans
Program Description: Homeless Christmas Project, provides immediate physical needs for the homeless citizens of New Orleans.
What We Provide: Gift bags include the following items: comforter, knit hats and gloves, socks, dry foods, shampoo, body wipes, salvation track and a $10 Popeye's gift card.
Areas Served: The team visited two locations in the city of New Orleans: Downtown 7th Ward and Uptown 13th Ward
What We Learned: More than 90% of the homeless people were 50 - 70 years of age and African American.
